What I Want In A Romantic Proposal

First of all, it has to be in public. it doesn't have to be in front of eight million people, but I don't want to be proposed to in my house either.
If you do it when its just me and you there, it makes me think that either you aren't sure, or you're embarrassed to be seen with me, and neither of those is good.
you don't have to get down on your knees, but it doesn't hurt.
Oh, and the only excuse for not having a ring is if this was a spontaneous idea.
So if you don't have one, at least let me believe you didn't plan this. you can tell me the truth on one of our anniversarys, after I already have the ring.
And one last thing: surprise me.
Don't keep dropping hints about it until I know that it's going to happen without a doubt.
Cause...Beleive me, I'll already be telling all my friends, and it will be old news before you even pop the question.
And don't do it right after a fight, cause that just seems like a cheap way to make me forget what we were fighting about.
