Wedding Gifts

On the subject of
Wedding Gift registry ...That’s a tough one.
On one hand I think they are a very good idea, as it gives guests a good idea of what the couple really wants.
On the other hand, it can show just how
greedy a couple might be.
What I mean by this is...
If a couple only registries at one store, such as Macy’s, a really expensive store, and only puts on their
Wedding registry the most expensive gifts...
They risk making their guests, who can never afford to shop at such a place, feel resentful.
Registering at two or three stores with a wide variety of items with a wide range of prices is the best way to do it.
Gifts I have given in the past...
Well...You can call me prude, or rude, or even tacky but
I have always given cash. I don’t want the couple to end up with something they don’t like.
Or...Wish to return because it doesn’t match something in their new home.
...Or honestly have no need for it.
I have always bought the HAPPY couple a really nice card from an upscale card shop, signed it and
tucked in a $100 bill. It fits perfectly, goes with everything, doesn’t take up much storage space, and...
I have never once heard of a couple returning it.
I figure that is the best thing to do for them, and...
That way they can buy what they REALLY want or NEED instead of taking their chances and ending up with 12 sets of the same wine glasses.
