Wedding Gift Suggestions

When my sisters were married (they had a double wedding), I went and made a scrap book for each sister.
In both of the scrap books I took the time to write out a loving letter of how much they mean to me, and wishing them best of luck with their marriages.
Additionally, at the wedding along with a speech we did a presentation (power point) that went along the whole entire time with pictures growing up.
I went to things remembered and ordered pendants that showed sisters forever, that match for all three of us.
The thoughts behind my gifts were more sentimental, than monetary. I wanted my sisters to have something that came from my heart.
The scrap books, pendants, and slide show were a big hit.
I don't think price should be a factor, I think that the gift should come from the heart.
With wedding gift registry's, I think that they are necessary for couples that are just starting off, so they can obtain the things they need to start their life together.
Although, I feel that if you are very close to the person, a more personalized gift would mean more than some simple knife block or roast pan off of a registry.
