We Eloped to the Satara Hills

My husband and I eloped to the Satara Hills -- means Valley of Seven Hills -- a heavenly place in Pooona, India,

And...

Were married at Krishna's temple overlooking the lake Vasuki, the place where Lord Krishna use to come often as per the legendary stories.

It was windy and cloudy during our short ceremony, but all in all, a gorgeous place to tie the knot,

And...

The sun came out just as we were leaving.

We did pre-arrange to have a Purohit of the temple to meet us there to do the ceremony, and the location is very easy to find and get to.

It has some of the best views of the mountains, and the river can be seen from all of the Seven Hills.

...And one an spend days stretching his or her feet in the water.

Three months later we had an "official" wedding back in Bangalore ...this after all our friends had convinced our parents to recognize the ceremony...

...Wich was a grand affair.

Satara Hills would also be a fine place for eloping, as there are fantastic accommodations in the valley.

Next time any of you think of eloping before marriage, honeymooning,

Or...

Just simply want to celebrate your anniversary ...take a train to Poona and then ask for Satara.

It would be an unforgettable experience I promise you will NEVER regret.
