Virginia is for Distance Lovers

I met my boyfriend a few years back when I was going through a really tough break up with someone else.
He was there for me as a friend, and we quickly developed into something much more than that, and I couldn't have been happier.
At the time that we began dating I was in college.
He was just finishing up with his degree in architecture, and looking for a job in his current field.
It seemed like we had everything.
About 8 months into our relationship he got an amazing job offer... 700 miles away in Virginia.
Even though I knew I'd be crushed without him, I encouraged him to go because it was an amazing business opportunity that would open many doors for him in the future.
On our first night away from each other he called me and I expressed to him how I've never felt so alone in my entire life.
That's when asked me to look outside then asked if I saw the moon, and I said that I did.
And then he said
"Good, because that's the same moon that I see."It reminded me that no matter how far away he was, he's always close enough to see the same moon, and we're still under the same sky.
It's a lot more comforting now.
