Those Wonderful Roses!

There is only one flower that really means romance to me, and that is
the rose.
I love all the colors that they come in and the sent is so wonderful.
My favorite time is on Valentine's Day as that is also our wedding anniversary.
When our children were around 10, they told my husband that they also wanted to give Mommy
flowers for Valentine's Day.
Now, things were tough, we were raising three children and we both worked multiple jobs at the time and I had said no presents for me.
But the children were insistent that Mommy deserved roses, or...
That is what my husband tells me, and so the children gave Daddy enough of their allowance to buy me
a dozen roses.
So all three children went with Daddy to pick out my flowers at the florist.
Each child picked a color to represent them: My husband, of course, picked
the dozen red roses to be from him.
That afternoon, he said he would pick the children up from school and pick up dinner, and then they secretly swung by the florists to pick up the
two dozen roses.
They signed their names and picked a cut glass vase to present them to me.
All four were so proud that they had banded together to get me
the roses I really love. The smell from those wonderful
flowers and the love they were picked with, meant all the world to me and I still cherish that memory.
I kept those roses and dried them so I could keep that SPECIAL moment for as long as possible.
