The Scrapbook

My boyfriend and I had known each other since grade school but didn’t even consider dating until college.

Just before school started the fall semester of our senior year in college, he told me he was taking me out for a nice dinner to this great new restaurant a friend had mentioned, and we both wanted to try it out.

For the entire week prior to the dinner, I knew something was up but he had been fidgety and nervous but I thought he was just nervous about his last year of college.

We are both serious bookworms and stress out over school stuff.


After having dinner, my boyfriend pulled out a large giftbox.

Inside was a scrapbook he had put together of the time we had known each other, from grade school pictures to our most recent concert trip with lots of beautiful quotes about love and friendship.

On the very last page of the scrap book, it said.. Will you marry me and fill this book with more memories?

I was stunned.

I looked up with tears streaming down my face and the ring was sitting on the table and he was on one knee next to me.
