The Bride and Groom Honeymoon Bedroom

by Historytrivia
(Grand Prairie, Texas USA)

When I first entered The Honeymoon Bedroom, I was really touched by how beautiful it was.

Almost everything in the room was either in pink or red.

My in-law decorated the honeymoon.

I would never forget that.

My in-law is the best in-law in the world.

I loved the pink canopy bed with red comforter, matching pink linen and pink pillows.

The pillows were adorned with dragons and phoenix embroidery.

The centerpiece of the bedroom was a 16"x20" framed photo of husband and wife. The one we took at the professional photography shop before the wedding day.

All the oil paintings on the walls were extremely beautiful.

These paintings were done my father in law so they were extremely precious and meant more to me than any possession in the world.

Some of the paintings were about the cities in the evening, and other paintings were about rivers in our homeland.

In my tradition, the bride and broom take off their shoes at the door of the bedroom and wore sandals in the bedroom.

That was why there were two pairs of sandals near the bed.

When it was bedtime, I took off all jewelries and put them in a special jewelries box.

Jewelries were the traditional wedding gifts given to the brides by their families and their husband’s family.

...Then all lights were turned off.

My husband dressed in his new pajamas and I dressed in a pink silk night gown, and we were alone to talk about our plans for the future.
