That Old Time Feeling

I've always been in love with the World War II era, the fashion, music, movies, all of that.
My boyfriend of course knew this after being dragged to countless movies and forced to endure me shopping for gloves and hats at antique stores.
Last year it turned out he had to spend two months in Europe for business.
He got an international phone and we promised to call or email each other once a day.
We kept our promise, writing each other about what sights he saw and what kind of food he tried, while I wrote about work and my art.
It was simple and easy to write off an email in the morning or before going to bed.
Then one day I checked my mail and found a letter from him. It was handwritten on handmade paper he bought in Paris.
In it he talked about how much he missed me and what he couldn't wait to do together once he got back.
I quickly wrote back and sprayed the handwritten letter with my perfume.
This continued through out his stay, about a letter a week.
We talked about completely different things in the letters than we did in the emails, like they were our own private conversation.
It of course hearkened back to my love of WWII and handwritten letters, and was one of the most romantic things we've ever done.
