Sister of the Bride

Maybe it was the romance in the air; maybe it was the flower in my hair.
I was relieved that I wasn't the bride, but that it was my sister at the groom's side.
Not for me, that romance stuff!
I thought that I was pretty tough.
All I could think about was getting outta those shoes... and then I looked into your baby blues.
Yep, you were the groom's brother (I'd met you before), at the rehearsal dinner we both were bored.
We missed the rest of the vows they repeated, staring at each other like our lives were completed.
At the reception we danced, we ate cake and sat close, I found you the most interesting man I'd ever known.
When it was almost time for the happy couple to get away I wasn't surprised that I caught the bouquet.
The band was tuning up for the newlyweds' last dance When you whispered to me,
"Let's not miss this chance." I almost couldn't believe I answered
"all right" so you sprang to the stage and grabbed the mike.
"Pastor Jenkins, could you come up here a moment?" As I stepped up to your side I felt that I floated.
As the preacher stood there with us, at first, nobody noticed we were about to burst.
The room got quiet as they saw our little show thinking we were teasing my sis and your bro.
I guess we stole their thunder but why wait when it feels right?
And by the way...guess which couple got pregnant first, on their wedding night?!?!
