Simple, Personal, and Cost-Friendly Wedding Gift

A good friend of mine recently got married.
I wanted to get them something that would mean a lot, something that they would actually WANT to keep, instead of feeling awkward about, and...
Something that might actually get some use.
I went with making them
soy candles.
I got all my supplies at thecandlesource.
I carefully chose the fragrance and color, and most importantly, the container.
I shopped around and found two beautiful yet simple crystal wine glasses.
I picked out ones that where smooth rather then with an intricate carve pattern, so that I could use my glass etcher to etch their names and wedding date on the glasses.
(On the bottom, I also left some well wishes and my name). And I drew some connecting hearts.
It may take a little time, but it's worth the effort.
I occasionally make candles for other people as well, so any time their candles have run out, I can always keep them refilled.
Plus...You can't wrong with the Soy wax.
Stick with something 100% natural, and use natural coloring and fragrance as well.
Soy wax is water soliable, and it burns completely even across the top.
So...After it's been burned, the glass can be washed out with hot soap and water and actually be used as a glass, or whatever else.
...And Soy just happens to be really good for your skin, so while these candles are melted, you can use them as a body massage oil.
Be creative with your container.
Find an old silver creamer dish and use it, so that once enough has melted, it can be easily poured.
Also...It has a really low melt point, so it's never going to get to hot to touch; it'll be warm at most.
Have fun with it!
