Remembrance

Call me old-fashioned, and perhaps I am, but...
When I am expected to give
a wedding gift, whether it's the bride or groom I am friendly with, I always think
'memories and remembrance.' The reason for that is simple and obvious:
Someone's wedding day is the beginning of a new life together, and it should be
specially remembered.
Many years ago when I was much younger and there were more wedding invitations, I began to purchase
a sterling silver picture frame as a wedding gift......Not too fancy because I made sure it was ENGRAVED on the top and the bottom with the bride's name, the groom's name, and the date of the wedding.
In this day and age of electronics and digital equipment, I still think it's a NICE WAY to remember such a special occasion.
The spouses, their friends, visitors and family should be able to look at the happy couple, their faces beaming from the mantel or the piano or the bookcase, and not on some computer.
The recipients also seem to think it's a great gift, too!
