Recreate The First Date

My husband and I had a beautiful first date together--walking through a state park in the poring July rain.

We stopped and held hands in a shelter on the path when the lightning started.

Since we had both moved to New Orleans to attend college, going back to that park was impossible.

That morning for me had been terrible, so at lunch my sweetie took me to a park near the school.

He took me to a bench and had me sit while he knelt in front of me. I thought that he was going to propose, but he just sat there talking to me and trying to cheer me up.

Little did I know that he was just biding his time... He reminded me of our first date together and told me this was the best that he could do.

When I started smiling and laughing, (about 15 minutes of him kneeling later), he pulled the ring box out of his pocket and asked me to be his wife.
