My Two Favorite Gifts From My Own Wedding

My wedding day is one of my best memories and the gifts we got were all nice, and...
Most of them were really thoughtful and things that we had listed on
Our Registry.
Two gifts stood out though, and to this day I have STOLEN the ideas and used them as gifts to other married couples myself.
One of the gifts was actually from the woman who threw our wedding shower.
Without us knowing, she had every person who attended the shower and the wedding itself to fill out an index card with tips on how to make a marriage work/succeed.
She then took all the index cards, and there were over 100, and bundled them together in
a gorgeous keepsake box with an organza bow. We spent our honeymoon night reading these tips and laughing/crying/agreeing with them.
It was so personal and so touching to see what the people who shared our day with us thought.
The other gift that really stuck out came from my own family.
My parents wanted to give us something that we could cherish for years but also could use immediately.
What they gave us was a tree for our new yard.
But this was not an ordinary tree.
It was a
"money" tree.
Tied to each of the branches was rolled up money!
The bills ranged in denomination from $1.00 to $50.00 and the whole tree totaled $500.00!
For a couple in college and just starting out in their new home, this gift was a godsend.
