My Fave Romantic Movie of All Time...

It's actually not necessarily a happy ending movie either.
The movie I'm referring to is the French classic,
The Umbrellas of Cherbourg. Jacques Demi directed this wonderfully beautiful and somewhat tragic love story.
It is a musical, entirely sung from beginning to end, with no additional dialogue.
You get the story of young love turned upside down, and then insert separation from a war, and having to move on with your life, and still try to be happy.
Every shot is painstakingly beautiful, and every emotion is heartfelt. It's a great movie to not only cry to, but be in awe of
"first true love."Of course I have other favorite romantic movies, but I usually like ones off the beaten path.
I love the movie
Jersey Girl. No, not the Rosie Perez movie, but the Kevin Smith directed vehicle starring Ben Affleck and Liv Tyler.
It just seems so absurdly realistic.
It's got Kevin Smith's quirk, but a great romantic byline in it as well. (Not to mention a small performance of a song from Sweeney Todd from the cast...)
And in a twisted strange way, I'd even classify the
Royal Tennanbaums as not only a quirky movie, but one with quite a bit of romance in it as well.
...Definately only for those who crave a little sarcasm in their lives...
