Memories that Refused to Fade

Well I do not fit in the category of 'I DO', as mine was an arranged marriage thirty years ago.
But yes...
...we did eloped once ...me and my husband.
It was to be our 3rd anniversary, and we wanted to be alone, which seemed impossible as he was the youngest married officer in the regiment.
Luckily it was Sunday the next day. So after his office was over, we drove out of the cantonment, without informing anyone.
It was a rash thing to do.
It could have cost him his job or atleast a red mark on his report.
There was a small village on the banks of Ravi river.
On our way we had picked up some beer and some eatables.
We decided to swim in the river, and after that sat on the stones and had a picnic.
The sun was going down, and we were sleepy. we rested there for some time and then moved to the nearby town further away from cantonment.
It was fun all the way with him singing and me giggling all the way.
We checked in a hotel for the evening and stayed indoor the whole day.
It was the most memorable day of my life ...especially the feeling of 'dare'.
WE reached back home around midnight totally exhausted .
He joined the office next day morning.
He got a dressing down from his commanding officer ...but that is another story.
We had to give an anniversary party where we were given the title of 'BHAGODE', which means the one who eloped or ran away.
