Long Distance Dedications

Danny and I carried on a long-distance relationship for almost three years.

This was sometime before the internet came into its full use, and I did not have a telephone for a substantial part of that relationship...

So...

Cards and letters helped us keep in touch between phone calls and visits.

The one thing that I found the most memorable about our relationship was flowers and long distance radio dedications.

For my birthdays, holidays and our anniversary, Danny would send me flowers that would usually be delivered to my place of business (so that all the other ladies in the office could be a little envious).

I didn't have the funds to send flowers, so I sent letters to American Top 40 (hosted by Casey Kasem, at the time).

The first two years, Danny and I were visiting/together during the airing, which made the dedications that much more romantic...

But...

The last year, we were apart, but on the telephone when the dedication was aired.

It was still very sweet and romantic.

I'm no longer in that relationship, but I still have the letters, postcards, pictures, and memories that I will always cherish of that time in my life.
