Long Distance Courtship Letters

For me and my fiance, it was very simple. Instead of short text messages and emails, we hand-wrote courtship letters to each other.

It was an experience unlike any I've ever had to run to the mailbox every week or so and get a letter from her.

It felt like I could write for days when I was communicating with her.

We would talk about anything and everything, sometimes it would be something simple like "how was your week?", and sometimes it would be a little spicier, like when we were getting ready to see each other.

I think the most important thing was that it was a little piece of her every time I got one.

And...

I know she has all of mine in a SHOEBOX, hidden safely away in a closet.

I almost miss those letters, now that we live together.
