Diamond Solitaire

I took my girlfriend on a holiday to a location that was due to have a total solar eclipse.

We stood together, hand in hand, at the peak of a hill on a small island in the path of the totality.

The first sliver of sun to emerge from the cover of the moon is called the "diamond ring" and at the same moment as this happened I dropped to one knee and asked her to marry me, presenting a diamond solitaire ring which caught the first rays of the new sun.

She said YES!
