Cliffs Overlooking the Ocean

New England has many romantic and beautiful sites that can be magnificent locations for weddings.

My husband and I were married on a cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Newport, Rhode Island.

There is a bird sanctuary there that has a lot of hiking paths for exploring and enjoying nature.

Many of the paths crisscross each other, providing hours upon hours of exercise and relaxation.

There is also a path that follows along the perimeter of the sanctuary, and at one point it runs near the edge of a cliff.

At one point there is a park bench to sit on, and you can see for miles on a clear day.

When we eloped, it was the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and wonderfully clear.

The wind was blowing so it was very cold, but it was just me, my husband, our two witnesses, and the judge.

It was very romantic and the view was breathtaking!

It was even more special because this was the same spot we had come to on many previous dates to sit,

And...

Share ideas and dreams as we looked out over the gorgeous ocean waves.

With the cold wind, it was an added plus that we were able to dress in jeans and fleeces.

It's easier to take a major step in your life when you're comfortably dressed and with the one you love! (Just be sure you have film in your camera.

Unfortunately, we didn't, but we DO have wonderful memories!)
