Beachside Fortress

The most romantic place that I have every visited, and the place I would LOVE to get married at someday is St. Malo, France.

For those of you who do not know, it a medium to large sized port city on the northern coast of France.

I was there with a tour group in summer one year and you wouldn't believe how beautiful the sunset was as it sunk below the stoney islands and watery horizon.

The old portion of the city is surrounded by a large stone wall, complete with a rampart walkway.

There are even some old cannons still left in place.

The hotel we stayed at had views either out onto the cobblestone plaza or out at the wall and the ocean.

The old town is full of little shops selling trinkets and wares and there is a cafe or restaurant about every third shopfront.

Most have tables out front for you to stop and have some light refreshments.

At night everything was artfully lit.

I would definitely love to get married up on the ramparts at sunset and spend my honeymoon poking around the city.

Now if only I could find the right guy....
