Hi,

My name is Roy Ramkissoon.

I started this website on Romance because it was a subject I've always been interested in.

I grew up in a society where tradition and culture dictate that men go out into the fields and factory as bread winners, while the women folks stay home to cook and watch the kids.

If the women emulate the men folks (and many of them did), in many cases they'll still end up coming home and fulfilling their homemakers duties.

As for romance...

That was not too obvious. You won't normally see a man holding his wife's hand as they walk the streets.

She'll probably walk a few steps behind.

The young folks, if they do date, it was always a sneaky affairs ...and as for marriages, many of them were arranged.

And it was also quite obvious that many of those marriages were silently endured or that couples managed to quietly get along.

Terms of endearment like:

Were not part of the address.

So I grew up noticing that romance was either stifled or dead.

Relationships that started out with sparks flying quickly ended up losing their spontaneity.

The happy knot tied at the wedding vow quickly became a dreadful noose around the neck ...going from 'I DO' to 'HECK I DON'T ...NO NO NO!', and...

The screams to 'LET ME OUT!'

What a travesty!

But it shouldn't have to be that way.

Okay, why am I saying this?

Well, the subject of romance became a passion of mine as it was so painfully evident that it was lacking in relationships.

I made several attempts at starting a blog as a way of documenting my thoughts and feelings on the subject.

But setting up a blog was such a daunting task for me ...what with all the techie and HTML stuffs.

The few blogs I started I scrapped because they didn't convey the look and feel I was looking for.

But all that changed and thus began My SBI! story.
