A Love that Lasts...

by Barbie Alcaraz
(Manila, Philippines)

"If two people are meant for each other, it doesn't mean that they are meant for each other NOW."

That's my favorite quotation since this really happened to me?.

Here's my story:

I was 18 years old when I met this guy ...CJ. He's visiting me at home everyday to court me...Until I fell in love with him.

Since I was young, I asked him to let me go.

I went out of the country (with my parents) and I leave him in our home country.

I heard from his friends how much sufferings and heartaches he felt when I left.

He drinks a lot, smoke, jumps into girls just to forget everything.

After 4 years, something happened in one of my networking sites. I can't receive messages from my friends, so I posted a bulletin asking to help me.

With 215 friends in that account, only one person answered me ...CJ!

And that's the beginning of our communication, again!

Since I'm still out of the country, we use to chat through YM, Friendster, Facebook, and phone calls.

He courted me again and told me that after 4 long years, he did not forget me and he will never ever forget me. And...

The feelings that I kept for four years just burst out!

And it seems that I can no longer control the feelings I have for him from the very beginning.

And so for the second time, I said yes! He heard me saying "I love you too so much!"

And now, we are still in a long distance relationship.

But what we have now is a perfect relationship!

But we are still struggling to loneliness everyday.

Loneliness of being away from each other. And we keep our relationship alive by constant communication...

...Everyday communication.

And we can't deny that a big part of our relationship is love letters. We keep on sending each other lover letters.

Even without occasions...

Just to tell each other how happy we are, and how lucky we are to have this perfect relationship...

Just to remind each other that even though we are miles apart, we only have each other in our hearts!

We are already talking about marriage.

And soon ...hopefully next year I will come back to my home country to marry the guy I love the most!

And to stay with him forever.

Hoping this short story of mine can give you guys inspiration. Especially those with the same situation as ours.

Distance is not a hindrance; in fact, it makes the heart grow fonder!
