Creative Romantic 'Thank-You' Notes

With the growing popularity of the Internet, it's becoming quite ok and acceptable to say, 'thank you' via email or e-cards following an enjoyable date. While these forms of communications can be convenient at times, in many instances, they can also stifle creativity.

If you're that kind of person that leans heavily on the Internet and are looking for some creative thank you messages, then allow me to relay a simple story.

My first date as a freshman in university was a gorgeous young lady from Mexico. The date was simple...a 'dinner date' at the school's cafeteria...in other words...when the student body sat down for a meal, my date and I sat together.

After the date, I went looking for a big semi-dry leaf that had fallen from one of the hundreds of trees on the scenic landscaped-campus, and carefully crafted a 'thank-you' poem on it. A bone-dry leaf would have easily crumbled, but I felt sure that the semi-dry one would at least stay intact until the message was read.

Well, I placed the thank-you 'note' in a large envelope...that I made of course...and addressed it to my date with the words fragile on the outside, and had it delivered to the library where she was working part-time.

You know I would have given anything to see the reaction on her face when she opened that envelope...but when I caught up with her later, she gave me some positive feedback and I knew deep down in my heart that I had earned some points for creativity and originality.

Throughout my stay at the university I tried my outmost to stay creative with my thank you notes. I've scribbled messages on a strip of tree bark, naturally carved wood, messages on fruits, and the list goes on and on.

I believe that girls are naturally more creative when it comes to notes, than their male folks...and fellas, we can sure learn a heck of a lot from them.

So, guys, go earn some brownie points with your date.
